Itinerary
Efes Antik Kenti – Following Apostle Paul’s Footsteps:This visit will focus on the city of Ephesus, which plays a significant role in early Christian history. The Apostle Paul is believed to have preached in Ephesus, and visitors will walk the same streets and visit key sites such as the Celsus Library and the Ancient Theatre. These locations hold deep connections to early Christianity, including the account of Paul’s ministry in the Book of Acts (19:10). You’ll experience the historical and spiritual environment that shaped the growth of early Christianity.
Artemis Temple – Traces in the Bible:The Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was located in Ephesus. It was a significant site for the worship of Artemis and played a role in biblical events, as mentioned in Acts 19:23-41, where a riot broke out over the worship of Artemis in the city. The visit to the temple’s ruins provides an understanding of both Greek mythology and the early days of Christianity, showing the intersection of pagan and Christian influences.
House of the Virgin Mary: This pilgrimage site near Ephesus is associated by Christian tradition with Mary’s final years. John 19:26–27 describes Jesus entrusting his mother to the beloved disciple at the crucifixion; it does not identify a house in Ephesus. Visitors may spend time here in prayer and reflection. The traditional association should not be presented as an archaeological proof of Mary’s residence.
St. Jean Basilica – Following Apostle John’s Legacy:The St. Jean Basilica in Ephesus is the final resting place of Apostle John, one of the authors of the Gospels. The Bible, particularly in John 21:24, provides details about his life and teachings. This basilica, dedicated to St. John, is a significant Christian monument and provides insights into the early Christian church and the role of St. John in shaping Christian doctrine.
