Büyük Valide Han

Grand Bazaar 

The World’s Largest Covered Bazaar. Our next stop is the Grand Bazaar, constructed in the 15th century by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror. Today, it remains a vibrant shopping hub. With thousands of shops lining its labyrinthine streets, you’ll feel the spirit of Ottoman merchant traditions and experience a blend of history and modern commerce. Cağaloğlu Hammam & SPA 

Ottoman Elegance and Bathing Tradition. After exploring the Grand Bazaar, we continue to Cağaloğlu Hammam—one of the finest examples of Ottoman bath culture. Commissioned by Sultan Mahmud I in 1741, this historic structure has been an integral part of Istanbul’s wellness and relaxation tradition for centuries. At the heart of the hammam lies the marble “göbek taşı” (central platform), which forms the centerpiece of the traditional bath experience. Süleymaniye Hammam & SPA – Masterpiece by Mimar Sinan. Our next destination is the Süleymaniye Hammam, located next to the Süleymaniye Mosque and built in 1557 by the great Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan. This historic bath brings together the grandeur of Ottoman architecture and the elegance of bath culture. Its expansive domes and intricate stonework are truly impressive. Historically, hammams were more than places to bathe—they were social centers where people gathered, relaxed, and engaged in conversation. Today, with its carefully restored sections, the Süleymaniye Hammam remains functional, offering visitors both a historical atmosphere and a comfortable experience.

Mahmutpaşa Han  

Traces of Historical Commerce. The final stop of our tour is Mahmutpaşa Han, one of the key trade centers of the Ottoman period. Built during the reign of Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, this han once played a central role in the Ottoman economy. Today, it remains lively with shops selling handcrafted goods and traditional souvenirs. The large courtyard, which once hosted merchants and displays of goods, still reflects the vibrant commercial life of the past.
